Howdy! My name is Michael Bearre (left)...

I've been writing as a hobby since high school—almost 20 years now—and I especially love crafting stories in horror, science fiction, coming-of-age, and fantasy genres.

My short stories range between four and ten thousand words, and the length of poems varies: some are short, some are not.

I've written The Pumpkin Man (Published in 2011, but no longer in print), three fantasy novels, six coming-of-age novels, two horror novels (including The Pumpkin Man), and I don't know how many novellas and short stories I've written (because there have been so many). There are more than eighty pieces of work that I have crafted in my lifetime: some good, some ugly.

Honestly, I'm up for any genre of any length. Some days, I'm inspired to weave a romance, and on others, I'm pulled toward the thrill of a chilling horror story.

If I had to pick one genre and one format, I would write full length coming-of-age novels because books give enough space for the characters to build a story of their own. Short stories, even at ten-thousand words, simply do not offer that kind of in-depth connection that novels have.

Novels give the writer and reader freedom to explore the characters of the story, which is why I prefer writing them.

Anyway, in summary, scary stories, creepypastas, fantasy stories, coming of age stories, all of them are fun for me to write and hopefully fun for you to read.

I've been happily married for nearly a decade, and together, my spouse and I are raising three wonderful kids. Life's a grand adventure, right?

Also, I DO NOT use AI to create my stories. I noticed there has been a crusade against users of AI (particularly those who abuse AI to create work and claim it as their own), and I feel compelled to separate myself from that rabble.

However, I do and have used AI in the past to create some of the music and graphics in my videos.
